ISCAS
The Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS) is a leading research institute in China, which focuses on the fundamental theories of computer science as well as software technologies and their applications. As a part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), ISCAS is a government-sponsored institution. Through the research results and innovations, ISCAS hopes to establish an international reputation in academia and to assist in the development and growth of China’s software industry. ISCAS has extensive academic exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities and research institutions.have also been cooperating with a number of international companies like IBM and NEC in various ways. Located in ZhongGuanCun, ISCAS is close to several famous universities like Peking University and Tsinghua University, and also close to some R&D centers of companies such as Microsoft Research Asia.

System of Chinese Word Segmentation and Part of Speech Tagging
   --- coperate with the NTT Communications, the biggest network company in Japan.
One important feature of Chinese texts is that they are character-based, not word-based. Each Chinese character stands for one phonological syllable and in most cases represents a morpheme. The fact that Chinese writing does not mark word boundaries poses the unique question of word segmentation in Chinese computational linguistcs. So no serious Chinese language processing can be done without segmentation and part of speech tagging.
The system of Chinese word segmentation and Part of Speech tagging is very import for the Chinese natural language processing and is the base of the every application that using Chinese langague processing technique.
Efficience and Correctness of Chinese Word Segementation and Part of Speech Tagging are the main 2 characters to determie the System is good or not. My main task is to improve the original segmentation algorithms and design some tools to test this system.
The main program language used in this system is C.

Japanese-Chinese Machine Translation System
   ---- cooperate with Hitachi Ltd, Japan
Machine Translation is the development of fully automatic systems which translates the document from one language to another language.
In this system, we mainly implement the machine translation from Japanese to Chinese. Addiational we also develop the application for the instant translation of Japanese web page in the web browser.
