• [Tue Nov 23 23:11 2004]  Bug found in the Sequence Detector DigSim circuit found this morning has been fixed. The fixed version is online and says "version: 2004-11-23" at the bottom right. If you want to update your local copy, use one of these links:

• [Thu Nov 18 22:58 2004]  Lecture topics pages updated through Thursday, November 18. The following DigSim circuits were requested in class and are now available:
  • Master-Slave D Flip Flop with 2 phase clock
  • Master-Slave J-K Flip Flop with 2 phase clock
  These two circuits (as well as many others) are available in DigSim under "open examples". If you downloaded a local copy of DigSim, you'll need the latest

• [Fri Aug 20 15:25 2004]  The class appears to be full. There are 40 names on the roster and at least 5 students on the hold list. I do not want the class size to exceed 45 --- especially since seats are still available in section 0201.

• [Fri Aug 20 15:25 2004]  This course is a replacement for CMSC 211 Assembly Language Programming and CMSC 311 Computer Organization which are no longer offered at UMBC. However, computer science majors who take this class must also take CMSC 411 Computer Architecture to satisfy the requirements of a BS degree in computer science. CMSC 313 by itself will not be sufficient for graduation --- even if you've taken CMSC 211 or CMSC 311 previously.
