COMPUTER USAGE

     Each student is expected to get their own username on some
  computer. Listed below are the some open VAX's and the system managers
  that you can see to get a username. If a student has a username
  from work or another course it can be used. ( You will want to
  create a sub directory for this course. ) Being in this course
  entitles you to use an overhead account for EVENING SCHOOL ONLY.
  The preferred account name is ADA*CLASS which is equivalent to AB3485.
  Please fill out attached VAX USER AUTHORIZATION REQUEST and security form
  if you do not have an account ( or want an account on an additional VAX ).
  You may use VMS or UNIX or a PC that has Ada available.

     The phone number is for any baud dial up. If you use these do the
  following:  Dial number, it will answer with a different dial tone.
  Dial 3#, after it connects, type  ECLUS, ZEUS, SWARS, PLAZA etc.
  and wait till something happens, Type <cr>  <cr>     This should get
  username:  prompt. continue with signon. (In Kermit or autodialer, use
  ATDT7650020,,,3# as the dial sequence. Sometimes takes several trys.)

        General comments that apply to all VMS VAX's

   Type  $ HELP ADA  to get information on VAX Ada
         $ HELP ACS  to get information on VAX Ada libraries etc.
         $ HELP LSE  to get information on language sensitive editor
         $ HELP DEBUG to get information on interactive debugger

         $ HELP ADAFORMAT to get info on file formatter
         $ HELP ADACOUNT to count lines,tokens,statements etc
         $ HELP ADAMAKE for making a .COM to do compilations

     To get an account on any VAX send mail to  SYSTEM  requesting an 
  account, and specifying account  ADA*CLASS  AB3485

  You may also use TRON:: which is a Unix operating system, a DECStation
  5000/200 running Ultrix RISC with DECAda, LSE, SCA, etc.
  The rough equivalent of HELP on VMS is  man on Unix. e.g.  man ada
  man lse    man sca

  X Windows work stations and X Terminals are scattered around. Look
  for one in your area.
