The Physicist's Method
A physicist set out to prove that all odd numbers greater than 1 are prime.
Here's how he went about it.
Hypothesis: All odd numbers more than 1 are prime.
Experiments:
| Experiment |
Observation |
Conclusion |
| n=3 | n is odd and prime | Success |
| n=5 | n is odd and prime | Success |
| n=7 | n is odd and prime | Success |
| n=11 | n is odd and prime | Success |
| n=13 | n is odd and prime | Success |
Conclusion: All odd numbers greater than 1 are prime.
Remarks: n=9 is an experimental error.
