Brief Course Description
Graduate introduction to cryptology. Topics will include
conventional and public-key cipher systems, authentication,
cryptanalysis, pseudorandom number generation, cryptographic protocols,
key escrow systems, quantum cryptography,
and applications of cryptography to electronic commerce.
Required readings will be dawn from recent research papers. Each
student will present a paper and carry out an original research
project.
