Rules
Each student will play game in 60 mins. Grandmaster Smirin will play
game in 100 mins. Grandmaster Smirin will take White in all games.
Results
Grandmaster Smirin won fourteen games, lost none, and drew one.
Fifteen people played in the simultaneous, including two players from
the Internet Chess Club. William Carroll (1833) drew after quickly
obtaining an opening advantage. The two internet contestants played
under the pseudonyms Twinjet (1720) from Tampabay, Florida, and
Babaganush (2100) from Denver, Colorado---both lost. The event
finished at approximately 10:30pm, with Smirin rarely taking more than
2-3 seconds per move.
