The UMBC Chess Club, in partnership with the United States Chess Federation (USCF), presents:

1996 Pan-American Chess Championships
on Baltimore's Inner Harbor

December 27-30, 1996

Three separate six-round events:

• Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Championship
• Pan-American Scholastic Team Championship
• Pan-American Open

Each of the team events is a Team Swiss System; the Open is an Individual Swiss System. Individuals, alternates, faculty, and coaches are encouraged to play in the Open. Each team consists of four players and up to two alternates, all from same campus.
