Dear colleagues: I am looking for a postdoc to work on dynamic approach to pathway visualization, a project recently funded by NSF (PI: Carl J. Schmidt, Co-PIs: Vijay K. Shanker, Cecilia N. Arighi, Fiona M. McCarthy, and myself).  The fundamental goal is to use interaction and graph visualization to improve biologists' ability to convert (very large) data into understanding. We will design and test multi-level multi-scale signaling pathway analysis and visualization methods and understand different interaction modalities. Required skills:  The candidate should hold a PhD in computer science, with a focus on visualization / interaction (HCI, computer graphics, visualization, 3D interaction, VR). The candidate should feel comfortable programming graphics and interaction techniques, has experience with experimental approach, and is familiar with visualization or interface design methods. Background in graph analysis methods / gene regulation network is a big plus but not mandatory. The ability (or willingness) to work in interdisciplinary team is required. Candidate with an intent to have an academia career is most welcomed. You will be trained on proposal writing and team leadership etc. Women are especially welcomed to apply! Period: 3 years.
