SUMMARY Another busy and critical month in Q4, help Fernando close deals and meet the sales quota, delivered timely technical support for both customers and Sun internal team. 2. Accounts Activities + AGF Management Ltd. A successful seminar was held at 100 Renfew, targeted at their IT managers, evangelize Sun's datacenter.com vision. + CDS (Canadian Depository of Securities Limited) 3 x E450 and 3 x A1000 are already in their testing environment, another 5 rack mountable workgroup servers (E420R) are added for their production system and development environment. Fernando is dealing with final sales issue, most likely they would lease the equipment first. + CI Mutual Funds Many paper works are done for their storage devices such as Sun StorEdge T300 (by SunScope) and L700 tape library (B-X schedule, technical checklist, etc.), follow up with ES counterparts, to make sure ES HQ approval for early shipment. + Fidelity Investments Work with their E-Business group, two projects were initiated. One is focused on thin client, to evaluate and determine feasibility of a SunRay solution within the e-Business team and call center's environment, and the other is portal early access project, to help Fidelity Investments be the first in the mutual funds market to deliver portal solutions to their customers, and enhance their competitive advantage. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Olivia's great help, her effort, experience, and knowledge makes me follow up those projects much easier. I am working on Sun gear, once I get all the required equipment (SunRay 1 appliances, monitors, smart cards, and 3rd party fast ethernet switch are ready, waiting for SunRay server), the projects can move forward quickly. + Mackenzie Fincial Although we had many Sun Cluster references world wide, for a better sales process in Mackenzie, I discovered Sun's cluster references in Central region in Canada, there were many help from our ES SIS team. Also sent customer Sun's training resources. + Merrill Lynch Worked closely with Fernando and people in Merrill Lynch, clarified some technical issues in the GLOSS project, more than 1.5 million Sun gear was put into order. Contact them frequently, to discover more opportunity for Sun. + Trimark Got in touch with their IT managers, answered their question in Sun's software product (Solaris resource manager). One of their E4500 got panic recently, ES was involved in replacement of a new E4500. 3. TRAINING SUMMARY + Product update #10 by Ron Marshall on High Speed Networking, an excellent presentation on high speed networking technology, Sun's high speed networking solution, and future trend. it was well received by my customers as well. 4. Other Activities + Channel 2000: marketing support, including demo setup, booth setup and booth duty. + Task team business.com, we had a meeting, roles were assigned in the meeting. I will responsible for development tool and XML (Sun's contribution and standards). 5. PLAN FOR THE UPCOMING MONTH + Spend time on the following technical disciplines: SunRay, portal, and storage. + It's time to plan customers' support in the coming fiscal year with sales. The contingent support is for Fidelity Investment's E-Business SunRay pilot and portal project. + Oracle iDevelop'2000, will support for this big event. + Network Storage Launch, already sent invitation to all my customers, will meet them in the event.
