My research has always focused on Artificial Intelligence. Over the years I've worked on different aspects of it, including computer vision (71-74), natural language processing (75-85), knowledge-based systems (85-95), software agents (95-03), the semantic web (00 - ), social media (06- ) and human language technology (08-). I maintain an interest in all of these areas and occasionally return to some of the older topics.
My work has tended to be more applied than theoretical, so the application area has been important. Currently, I am very interested in applications involving web-based information systems, knowledge graphs, information extraction from text, and cybersecurity.
Other research-related interests include logic programming, programming languages, and electronic commerce.
Most of the papers I've written in the past decade are on line. You can also check DBLP and Google Scholar.
