SONET/SDH
SONET is a traditional TDM system.
Everything is controlled by a highly accurate clock (1x10E-9 accuracy) bits are sent out under clock control.
SONET consists of switches, multiplexers and repeaters.
- Fibre from one device to another is a section.
- Between two multiplexers is a line.
- Between source and destination is a path.
