UMBC CMSC 313, Computer Organization & Assembly Language, Fall 2003, Section 0101

Original Course Syllabus (Deprecated)

This is the original course syllabus and is no longer being followed. The arrival Hurricane Isabel necessitated some rearrangement of the due dates and topics. An up-to-date list of topics covered during each lecture is available at the Lecture Topics page.

We will follow two textbooks: Principles of Computer Architecture, by Murdocca and Heuring, and Linux Assembly Language Programming, by Neveln. The following schedule outlines the material to be covered during the semester and specifies the corresponding sections in each textbook.
